The course had a workshop formula and was led by <strong>Dr. Linus Svensson from Sweden, Head of the Oikos Editorial Office <\/strong>and for 20 years a managing Editor of scientific journals. Among 20 participants, there were staff, PhD students and trainees of the MRI, as well as PhD students from the Museum and Institute of Zoology PAS and from the Faculty of Biology of the University of Warsaw.<\/p>\n<p>The course covered following aspects: \u2022 General principles of information transfer \u2022 When and why to publish \u2022 The editorial process \u2022 Roles of editors and referees \u2022 The structure of scientific manuscripts \u2022 Text structure \u2022 Illustrations and tables \u2022 Ethics in scientific publishing. It heavily based on students&#8217; own work and experiences.<\/p>\n<p>The course was organised within <strong>7 FP Bioconsus project of the MRI<\/strong>.
