Specimen, brought to the Institute on the same day, proved to be a 2-3 year old female with a typical golden coloration and body mass of 11.0 kg. Necropsy survey showed numerous injuries following a collision with the vehicle. The female does not reproduce in this year. The investigated individual was the second specimen of the species studied in our Institute. Species identification was confirmed by genetic analysis. Golden jackal was already found in three locations on the outskirts of Poland (see: <a href=\"http:\/\/link.springer.com\/article\/10.1007\/s13364-015-0238-\">http:\/\/link.springer.com\/article\/10.1007\/s13364-015-0238-<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/link.springer.com\/article\/10.1007\/s13364-015-0238-9\">9<\/a>). We still don&#8217;t know if these are the first animals migrating into Poland, or whether in some areas we are dealing with sedentary individuals or populations even. (Photo by T.
