Laboratory description
The IBS PAS Genetics Laboratory has been operating for 22 years. It is equipped with instrumentation that enables comprehensive analyses of nucleic acids, including both sequence data and fragment size variation. We perform analyses using microsatellite markers, SNP markers, and DNA sequences—both mitochondrial and nuclear—based on contemporary as well as historical genetic material.
The laboratory also conducts gene expression analyses and cloning of selected DNA sequences. The results are used in projects related to population genetics, phylogenetics, and phylogeography of numerous mammalian species as well as other organisms. The IBS PAS Genetics Laboratory also performs commissioned analyses and expert evaluations for institutions and private individuals.
