Department of Biogeography of the Mammal Research Institute PAS is seeking postdocs interested in participating in the project:
„Comparison of Y-chromosome polymorphism with mtDNA and biparentally inherited markers in European population of wolves Canis lupus“.
The aim of the project is to assess the spatial genetic variation pattern of paternal lineages in the European wolf population and to combine the results with the available data on mtDNA and SNPs variation from the former studies conducted in MRI PAS and by other researchers. We plan to conduct a phylogeographic study on the paternal lineage in the European wolf population (based on already collected samples from 14 European countries), to complement the genetic data in regions not previously analysed (Romania, Armenia, Georgia, Russia – Siberia). In the final stage, the project will focus on the synthesis of genetic data from mtDNA, Y chromosome, and SNP marker analyses.
Project start : 1st September 2016 – 1st January2017
Project leader: Professor Dr. habil. Bogumiła Jędrzejewska
