Volunteering / Practical training
Mammal Research Institute of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Białowieża is looking for a volunteer / a student for field work under the project:
“Phylogeography and genetic diversity of the common vole (Microtus) in Poland”

Volunteer / Practical training Leader: Joanna Stojak, MSc
Requirements:
1. Interest in the field of biological sciences, such as: biology of small mammals, ecology, genetics.
2. The readiness to improve the practical skills in field work: assisting in animal capture, operating and relocating the traps, collecting biological material from living animals, field observations, availability.
3. Ability to work in a team.
4. Knowledge of the English language.
We provide:
1. The opportunity to acquire practice in field work in different parts of Poland.
2. Transport and accommodation in field work localizations.
3. Taking part in seminars and academic lectures on the biology, ecology and genetics of wild mammals, delivered in MRI PAS.
4. Stay in unique and one of the most beautiful regions of Europe – in the Białowieża Forest.
The Institute cannot cover the costs of travel and accommodation in Białowieża.
Applications for the minimum monthly practical training should be sent directly to the Secretariat of MRI PAS or to the Practical Training Leader by letter or electronically.
