Białowieża National Park has released the results of the European bison inventory, in which MRI PAS took part. A total of 870 bison were counted, which is fewer than the last year. According to the report, this decrease is due to one of the herds migrating to the outskirts of Knyszyńska Forest. Free migration between the Białowieża and Knyszyńska Forests has long been one of the key principles of European bison conservation in northeastern Poland. The video shows footage of one of the herds during the count (video by Prof. Rafał Kowalczyk).
