Discovering the secret life of the Białowieża Forest

A research project carried out by the researchers of the Mammal Research Institute creates an opportunity to see a hidden life of some of the Białowieża Forest’s most charismatic animals. The goal of the project is to investigate what is the forest utilization in different light and forest regeneration conditions by all coexisting species of large herbivores (e.g. red deer, roe deer, bison, moose). A video camera hidden in the Białowieża Forest allowed to gather a unique material depicting natural behaviour of animals. Below you can watch three short videos with the emperor or the Forest – the European bison.
