Sixty years ago, on 20^th of January 1955, appeared the first issue of Acta Theriologica. At the beginning it was published by the Institute of Zoology PAS in Warsaw, but from 1958 by the Mammal Research Institute PAS in Białowieża. During 60 years, Acta Theriologica communicated over 2500 articles, including original papers, short notes and book reviews. From this year onwards the journal will be published under new name – Mammal Research.
