01.09.2020 – Report on African Swine Fever in wild boar populations

Research conducted by the Mammal Research Institute PAS and collaborating institutions on wild boar ecology immediately prior to the occurrence of ASF in Europe and on the epidemiology of this disease immediately after its appearance in Poland has yielded new insights into the mechanisms of ASF spread and persistence in wild boar populations. The results of these studies have so far been published in seven scientific articles. We present a report which is a synthesis of reesearch results and recommendations for ASF control.
